Hardware Gear For The DL

Let’s face it, all bators, straight, bi, or gay, reach a place when we acknowledge that the pleasure our swollen penis brings us can no longer be denied (except for cum denial, of course, but that’s another article!). At that point, we begin to experiment, adding new layers to our bate ritual, and at some point, that usually brings us to accessories, AKA gear, or in this case, hardware gear.

I mean, we accessorize our trucks, cars, etc., so why not our cocks? But what’s a straight (or bi) guy to do? I struggled for many years about how to push my pleasure to the next level, and necessity being the mother of invention, I came up with some pretty creative ways to accessorize my favorite things!

This column goes out to bator buds who want cock and ball toys, or want to try them, but just can’t have them out in the open at this point in your lives!

Here is my DL toolbox/toybox list:

You know you want to play around, experiment, and push your abilities to a new level… But alas, there are no sex shops or toy stores in your neck of the woods, or you’re too embarrassed to venture into one of those places! Of course, there’s Amazon, but what if your girl checks the account and sees that? Try your local hardware store (Home Depot or Lowe’s hardware aisle). That’s where I started, and there’s plenty there to keep you busy and entertained.

Shackles - Hardware gearShackles make great ball stretchers (or cock rings) and come in a variety of sizes. Not only that, they are an inexpensive alternative to the expensive versions sold in toy stores! With bargain prices, you can choose different sizes and see what fits best around your equipment.

For ball stretching, don’t forget to stack! Once you find the right size, you can stack multiple shackles with the openings alternating left and right to get a really nice stretch.

Pro-tip: to really expand your stretch, add more shackles one by one in the middle of the stack. This is much easier than adding at the top or bottom.

And speaking of ball stretching, Try rope… It’s not just for bondage! (I recommend a nice soft fabric or nylon, not poly.) Look for a smaller rope, brush up on your Boy Scout slip knots, and wrap around, around, and around your sack for a nice stretch. Leave enough room for the boys to ‘breathe’ (in other words, don’t tie the rope too tight), but make sure it’s tight enough so they don’t slip up into the rope. (You can also include another wrap or two at the base of your cock for a makeshift cock ring of sorts.)

If you’re feeling adventurous, you can rig your wrap to include a place to hang weights. Those small 1 lb / 2.5 lb weights from your old dumbbell set are perfect, but you might want to start in the tackle box first! Try a single small sinker weight, or two, or three, and test your limit before moving to heavy lifting!

Don’t forget carabiners and/or double bolt snaps. I actually prefer the double bolt snaps. There’s just something about that “snap” sound when you’re deep into cock and ball play! Be sure to buy several more than you think you need. Believe me, you’ll need “just one more” before you know it.

While you’re in the hardware aisle, look for nickel or stainless steel rings as well. They should be right in the same area as the shackles and double bolt snaps. You’ll know ‘em when you spot ‘em, because your brain will immediately think cock ring! These are fairly inexpensive and come in a variety of sizes as well. I know for a fact there are 2” and 1.5” (and probably 1.75” as well), and as bate fate would have it, these are the most common sizes for cock rings. These can also be stacked. Since these are not as fancy as an ‘official’ cock ring, look for the metal seam and sand it down with sandpaper, your dremel, or if you’re really butch, your bench grinder. Once the rings are smooth, slip it on, and soon sparks will be flying from other places than your grinder! I’ve also been known to stack two together with black electrical tape if sandpaper or a dremel isn’t handy.

So where do you hide all this stuff? You don’t! That’s the best part about these alternatives—you can leave ‘em in the garage, in your tool box, or in a junk drawer in the house, in plain view. I’ve found over the years that if you can ‘normalize’ or ‘hide’ things in plain view, it’s much better and draws less attention to your sexual escapades. Think ‘normalize’ and ‘plain view’ and your life will be much easier, not to mention you won’t be stressed out about your toys being ‘discovered’ as they will have always been there in plain view instead of hidden.

I could go on, and talk about DL ass play toys (don’t knock it ‘til you’ve tried it – trust me!) as well as inexpensive electro alternatives, but I think I’ve given you enough to think on (and get hard about) for now.

Happy hardware hunting… Bate on, brothers!

Bi Daddy discovered the pleasure between his legs VERY early on and was already an addicted bator by the age of 8 or 9. He has continued to explore all things penis for over 40 years and looks forward to sharing more of his discoveries with his Bateworld brothers.

  1. This article needs some visual aids. I’m trying to imagine (without success) how a shackle can fit around my nuts.

  2. Another great place to get rings is at a rural store that sells poly-pipe fittings. The O Rings that fit into these are sold separately as replacement parts. They come in sizes ranging 3/4″ 1″ 1-1/4″ 1-1/2″ 2″
    Inexpensive as well.

  3. Bicycle inner tubes make great ball stretchers, u can cut them to length of what ever size you want. Do not leave them on for too long, any discomfort take it off immediately. I like to pre-stretch the ones I make by putting them around a can. Also run hot water over them to help stretch it enough to put around your balls.

  4. I keep all my gear in a Husky brand tool bag. No one would ever suspect what’s inside. And it helps keep everything organized. Of course, I DID have to buy another one when I outgrew the first.

  5. inserted three prostate vibrators with a diameter of 10 mm and a length of 8 cm through the urethra into the prostate. The result is disappointing, unfortunately the vibration strength is not enough for me to trigger an orgasm. I use a Hegar dilator so that I can get the vibrator into the prostate or urinary bladder. I now leave the dilator in the urethra so that the vibrators don’t wander out. Unfortunately, the vibration is not enough for me to ejaculate. But experimenting is still fun. If I create an orgasm with additional masturbation, the ejaculate can easily flow out past the vibrators because my urethra is expanded to 13mm.

  6. I have been using shackles for a fair while and thought I was the only one, the size is the diameter of the the bolt part that you screw in, I cut the tag off and put slot for screwdriver with hacksaw and filed them smooth, the size is the diameter of the bolt part, I have a 1/2 inch that goes behind my balls and above my cock, 5 3/8 between cock and balls and a 5/16 and a 1/4 inch right behind knob, the weight and swing is fantastic
