Doris Day’s epic meltdowns really take this faux-Hitchcockian psychodramatic thriller up a notch, though the movie’s hysterical in a number of unintentional ways. It starts out in a fog and pretty much ends that way too, but who cares when everyone looks so suave and gorgeous! Roddy McDowell special mention award. Ross Hunter Career Achievement Award.

Week End (1967), Fitzcarraldo (1982), Diabel (1974), The Laughing Woman (1969), Last Year at Marienbad (1961), anything by Lars von Trier… And how come Zabriskie Point (1970) didn’t make this list? Classic.
