Many wise and moderate users do discover that pleasurable sensations may be enhanced…

QUESTION: I’m not a regular pot-smoker, though I’ve tried it sometimes. I just felt weird, spacey, then sleepy and tired. I hate all the coughing. But then some of my housemates made some cannabis cookies—strong ones—and they persuaded me to try one. Wow! The world turned magical, and when I started to masturbate, I couldn’t believe the places I went! Is this typical? What do you think about masturbation and pot?

RESPONSE: First I have to give a simple disclaimer that I can’t advocate you do something illegal. But hopefully where you live recreational cannabis is legal, and it looks like before too long, all over the USA and more and more of the world it will be! Honestly, I was kind of a young Flower Child, what we called a “teeny-bopper” in Berkeley, California in the late 1960’s, and I’m amazed it’s taken this long for legalizing cannabis to catch on. Of course, the medical properties and uses are turning out to be legitimate, and we’re still just discovering those.

While smoking pot for recreational reasons all the time, daily, can have serious drawbacks, and can in fact seems to make many people complacent, start to lack motivation, and can exhibit mental fuzziness (IMO), it’s also definitely less dangerous than drinking a lot of alcohol.

Plus, as you may know, drinking much alcohol will not to enhance sex. What you discovered, using cannabis in connection with erotic pleasure, actually has a long, honorable history going back not only centuries, but probably thousands of years. As with any drug, the motivations for using cannabis, and the circumstances have a great deal to do with what benefits you derive, or any drawbacks that might emerge.

Many wise and moderate users do discover that pleasurable sensations may be enhanced, even amplified when you are under the influence of cannabis. Actually, many masturbators here on BW speak of this and sometimes even depict this in their sharing. As people are learning in places where cannabis is now legal, such as Colorado and California, there are many different varieties of this drug that can have a variety of effects overall.

Personally, I don’t smoke anything, because about 20 years ago or so I developed pneumonia and my left lung began to collapse. I had surgery and recovered completely, but for those who want to explore cannabis legally, I suggest the edibles over smokables. And though it is not my lifestyle now, when I was younger I was a dedicated pot-head for many years. It always enhanced my masturbation tremendously. Actually, that’s one of the main reasons I continued to use it through most of my 20’s and 30’s.

In 1988, I decided to stop smoking pot, and the mental clarity, the intelligence of my brain, that I became aware of astonished me. I realized I had been living in something of a protective cocoon, though I don’t regret it. Now that more widespread legalization seems to be on the horizon, I am all for it. It’s safer than alcohol and can really enhance your pleasure during masturbation and other forms of erotic enjoyment.

Like the growing appreciation for male masturbation and actual Phallic Brotherhood, that it goes harmoniously hand-in-hand with, it’s got to be an evolutionary thing!

How Bruce P. Grether became the Batemaster

Among his earliest memories, Bruce recalls seeing an adult man’s penis swing about anchored in a nest of curly brown hairs when the man was changing clothes. That penis fascinated him and he somehow knew it was of major importance. He also remembers how good it felt to slide down a stairway banister or to climb a tree with pressure between his legs sending delicious sensations all through his body.

At an early age, he played doctor with another boy his age, and the frottage he enjoyed as they rubbed their penises together made him feel One with All Things.

He was older, maybe 9 or 10 years when he figured out how to actually masturbate while taking a shower. Immediately Bruce became a fan of self-pleasure, though, with puberty, he became extremely shy about his body being seen. Still, when his pubic hair sprouted and his penis grew bigger, it astonished him how incredible the sensations could feel with adult genitalia.

All through his 20s and 30s Bruce loved masturbating and did it often. Something kept tell him though, that there could be more to it. None of the books he read about Tantra and Taoist erotic cultivation provided simple how-to instructions. Finally, in his early 40s, he came upon Joseph Kramer’s video about male genital massage: FIRE ON THE MOUNTAIN.

Having no playmates to try this with, he tried it on himself. In the process, he discovered what he soon named “Mindful Masturbation.” For 6 weeks he masturbated for hours every day, and did not ejaculate once! This was the Penis Paradise he had been looking for since his adventures playing doctor as a young boy. He was changed forever and lost most of his shyness and insecurities.

Bruce began to listen deeply to whatever his penis told him. This way he learned more and more about male masturbation, the penis, and he studied human sexuality. Soon he was hired to write professionally for the sex education site JackinWorld (dot) com, which he did for some years under the name “Bruce McFarland.”

Since then, his erotic activism is more radical and he uses his actual given name: Bruce P. Grether, AKA the Batemaster. He has hosted workshops and now does online masturbation coaching. In 2012 his best-selling book THE SECRET OF THE GOLDEN PHALLUS was published and with his handsome young friend Blue Tyger he created the Erotic Engineering site to explore advanced male self-pleasure practices.

Bruce considers himself a Missionary of the Male Mysteries and his work continues.

  1. I have medical where I am and also enjoy edibles. I prefer indica for the body high. I’ve found that cannabis helps give me long, drawn out orgasms when I masturbate, that I really love.
