2257 Under Attack

The 2257 law held adult content providers responsible for an inordinately burdensome record keeping process. Its purpose to protect minors from sexual imagery is not something anyone in the adult industry had a problem with. It’s what the paperwork requirements do to free adult speech that’s the issue.

But my second inspiration was BateWorld.com. Here, I met other men for whom this experience was just as revelatory. My book is dedicated in part to all the men who shared their sexual journeys with me. I realized that for so many of us, our sexuality is not peripheral to our experience of being human, but for many, it’s central. And I wanted to honor that — in myself and in the community that has sprung from BateWorld. I think if I had read my own book when I was 20 and starting my sexual life, I might have saved myself some trouble.

BATEWORLD 2016 IS COMING

Since we started BateWorld six years ago, we've been slowly evolving and improving our user experience. The current version, BateWorld2.0, was launched in 2010 after our first year of operation. We've continually improved on that foundation for five years and now we're ready to take it to the next stage. In 2016, BateWorld will begin its third phase of transformation. Our members will soon begin to see changes to the site, which may continue gradually through several more years as we upgrade every element of BateWorld.
