Ask The Batemaster: When Does Sperm Leave Your Balls?

Man holding his testicles - Ask The Batemaster - The Bator Blog

QUESTION:

Do sperm travel up your “vas deferens” when you edge, or only when you ejaculate?

RESPONSE:

Thanks for asking, as it is quite a common misconception among men that sperm cells, and possibly even semen in general, shoots up directly from your balls and exits your penis when you ejaculate. Actual sperm cells, those microscopic, little dudes with the long lashing tail that propels them along, are only a tiny fraction of the fantastic “goo” in your semen. The rest of the mix originates elsewhere, from your prostate, your seminal vesicles, and your Cowper’s gland. These tiny manufactories lie inside your body close to the base of your penis and generally just below your bladder.

The sperm cells themselves , AKA “spermatozoa,” originate in your balls themselves. They mature in spongy tissues on the outside of your testicles, until ready to migrate up those thin “vas deferens” tubes up into the base of your torso to mix into the seminal fluids. The mix of seminal fluids are perfectly designed to both protect the sperm cells and to safely transport them out from the tip of your penis when you ejaculate.

The best way to explore this system is not only with diagrams, but carefully examine and massage your own testicles within your scrotum. The sperm are manufactured within those solid ovoid’s or egg-shaped bodies you feel. On the upper part of each testicle, you will feel a sort of soft, spongy mass, not big, but usually you can feel it distinctly with carefully probing fingertips. This is called an “epididymis.” Your sperms spend some days growing up in there.

“The best way to explore this system is not only with diagrams, but carefully examine and massage your own testicles within your scrotum.”

From the epididymis, sperm cells travel up those two thin tubes, the vas deferens, that connect from inside your scrotum, up into your body, and loop around your bladder, then connect with the seminal vesicle at the top of your prostate gland. These tubes are too thin to easily feel.

Keep in mind, that on the microscopic scale of an individual sperm cell, the trip along the vas deferens to fulfill the purpose of its existence is a long hike across a large city. It takes a while. The good news for masturbators is that during sexual stimulation, while your penis, balls, and all of you feel so incredibly good, it’s like the sperm cells are riding a mass transit system from your balls to the seminal vesicles. Yes, while you’re edging the sperm cells climb the vas deferens.

When the big event happens, all the ingredients come together behind the base of your penis. The mix spurts into the urethra that travels from the base to the tip of your penis. Muscle contractions of the prostate and your penis itself shoot the glorious seed from inside you into the world!

While you edge, the sperm cells are riding the rapid transit system, but they don’t shoot directly out from your balls. As described, the journey is a bit more involved, but like all great stories it is really “The Hero’s Journey!”

How Bruce P. Grether became the Batemaster

Among his earliest memories, Bruce recalls seeing an adult man’s penis swing about anchored in a nest of curly brown hairs when the man was changing clothes. That penis fascinated him and he somehow knew it was of major importance. He also remembers how good it felt to slide down a stairway banister or to climb a tree with pressure between his legs sending delicious sensations all through his body.

At an early age, he played doctor with another boy his age, and the frottage he enjoyed as they rubbed their penises together made him feel One with All Things.

He was older, maybe 9 or 10 years when he figured out how to actually masturbate while taking a shower. Immediately Bruce became a fan of self-pleasure, though, with puberty, he became extremely shy about his body being seen. Still, when his pubic hair sprouted and his penis grew bigger, it astonished him how incredible the sensations could feel with adult genitalia.

All through his 20s and 30s Bruce loved masturbating and did it often. Something kept tell him though, that there could be more to it. None of the books he read about Tantra and Taoist erotic cultivation provided simple how-to instructions. Finally, in his early 40s, he came upon Joseph Kramer’s video about male genital massage: FIRE ON THE MOUNTAIN.

Having no playmates to try this with, he tried it on himself. In the process, he discovered what he soon named “Mindful Masturbation.” For 6 weeks he masturbated for hours every day, and did not ejaculate once! This was the Penis Paradise he had been looking for since his adventures playing doctor as a young boy. He was changed forever and lost most of his shyness and insecurities.

Bruce began to listen deeply to whatever his penis told him. This way he learned more and more about male masturbation, the penis, and he studied human sexuality. Soon he was hired to write professionally for the sex education site JackinWorld (dot) com, which he did for some years under the name “Bruce McFarland.”

Since then, his erotic activism is more radical and he uses his actual given name: Bruce P. Grether, AKA the Batemaster. He has hosted workshops and now does online masturbation coaching. In 2012 his best-selling book THE SECRET OF THE GOLDEN PHALLUS was published and with his handsome young friend Blue Tyger he created the Erotic Engineering site to explore advanced male self-pleasure practices.

Bruce considers himself a Missionary of the Male Mysteries and his work continues.

  1. I’ve been doing your multiple dry orgasmic technique for 9 years now, averaging 50 – 60 dry orgasms a day and I’m wondering why I never experience “blue balls” . Do the swimmers move along with the orgasms, and if so, where do they end up? Are they swimming in the tasty pre-come that starts to flow about half a dozen orgasms?

    1. I’d love to hear more about how you achieve 50 to 60 dry orgasms per day. How can I do this? Do you do them while working or laying in bed? How do they feel?

  2. This is why even though I am a devotee of multiple orgasms through semen retention, I still allow myself the joy of ejaculation every week or so. While I don’t experience it nearly as often as I once did, my ejaculations are more pleasurable and more memorable today.
