Ask The Batemaster: Is My Fetish Weird?

ATBM---Clothes-Fetish

Somehow totally naked guys aren’t quite so exciting to me! Is this weird? What do you think about this?

QUESTION:

I’m wondering about myself. I am most turned on by seeing guys partly dressed and jerking off. In fact, my favorite turn-on is a guy fully dressed with just his cock out and erect, and/or stroking it. Maybe formally dressed? Somehow totally naked guys aren’t quite so exciting to me! What do you think about this?

RESPONSE:

What you describe probably does qualify as a sexual fetish, meaning a particular image or situation that you find especially arousing. Of course, there’s nothing wrong with a fetish per-se. The only problem with fetishes is if they become seriously limiting to other options you might also enjoy, then they may prove questionable.

Your “fetish” is somewhat unusual, but I would not call it weird. Most likely part of the charge you get is from the sharp contrast between someone being dressed “properly” and the revelation of their true animal nature revealed from within the clothing.

It’s also possible this stems from some experience that you may or may not recall at all, from earlier in your life. Possible that someone exposed himself to you, which could have startled or shocked you somewhat if it was unexpected, but it may also have turned you on. Or it may have some other cause. It’s not necessarily something that you need to try to completely figure out.

The only problem with fetishes is if they become seriously limiting to other options you might also enjoy.

As I often say, we humans are complicated, and so much of what we think and do actually just surfaces from the subconscious parts of the mind and awareness. Along with this unknown, possibly unknowable aspect of the matter, attitudes toward aroused male genitals and male masturbation in particular remain strange and contradictory even in today’s world despite the fact many people have access to much better information.

Recent times have shown that even as people have better access than ever in history to all sorts of information, a lot of misinformation and outright lies are also presented to the gullible and impressionable. The classic business suit and tie is a uniform that symbolically cuts a man off from his body, his emotions and his so-called lower “animal” instincts, including sexuality. As such, males are supposed to be in control, to even dominate situations.

Whether men acknowledge this as truth or not, the erect penis is extremely vulnerable, sensitive, tender, even delicate, as well as strong. It is not a weapon, but an extension of feelings and emotions and sensations within the man. It’s contrast with the mostly-clothed body of the man may prove compelling to almost anyone who sees such a thing, if not necessarily the major turn on it is for you.

So long as you can get turned on by other sites and situations, having this special fascination does not need to be any problem. You might as well enjoy it, even if it is not so common these days as the sight of totally naked guys aroused or masturbating!

A note from The Batemaster: I’m honored that the guys at Bateworld have asked me to respond to some questions from male masturbators around the world every week.

Always check with your doctor about any issues you might be experiencing with your sexual organs. Prompt diagnosis and treatment are important. This article’s purpose is to inform and entertain readers and is not a substitute for medical advice or treatment.

The Batemaster (Bruce P. Grether)

How Bruce P. Grether became the Batemaster

Among his earliest memories, Bruce recalls seeing an adult man’s penis swing about anchored in a nest of curly brown hairs when the man was changing clothes. That penis fascinated him and he somehow knew it was of major importance. He also remembers how good it felt to slide down a stairway banister or to climb a tree with pressure between his legs sending delicious sensations all through his body.

At an early age, he played doctor with another boy his age, and the frottage he enjoyed as they rubbed their penises together made him feel One with All Things.

He was older, maybe 9 or 10 years when he figured out how to actually masturbate while taking a shower. Immediately Bruce became a fan of self-pleasure, though, with puberty, he became extremely shy about his body being seen. Still, when his pubic hair sprouted and his penis grew bigger, it astonished him how incredible the sensations could feel with adult genitalia.

All through his 20s and 30s Bruce loved masturbating and did it often. Something kept tell him though, that there could be more to it. None of the books he read about Tantra and Taoist erotic cultivation provided simple how-to instructions. Finally, in his early 40s, he came upon Joseph Kramer’s video about male genital massage: FIRE ON THE MOUNTAIN.

Having no playmates to try this with, he tried it on himself. In the process, he discovered what he soon named “Mindful Masturbation.” For 6 weeks he masturbated for hours every day, and did not ejaculate once! This was the Penis Paradise he had been looking for since his adventures playing doctor as a young boy. He was changed forever and lost most of his shyness and insecurities.

Bruce began to listen deeply to whatever his penis told him. This way he learned more and more about male masturbation, the penis, and he studied human sexuality. Soon he was hired to write professionally for the sex education site JackinWorld (dot) com, which he did for some years under the name “Bruce McFarland.”

Since then, his erotic activism is more radical and he uses his actual given name: Bruce P. Grether, AKA the Batemaster. He has hosted workshops and now does online masturbation coaching. In 2012 his best-selling book THE SECRET OF THE GOLDEN PHALLUS was published and with his handsome young friend Blue Tyger he created the Erotic Engineering site to explore advanced male self-pleasure practices.

Bruce considers himself a Missionary of the Male Mysteries and his work continues.

  1. I do not believe this man’s question is weird nor strange. I have been a total “straight” man my whole life until recently when I have become bi-curious. That aside, “straight” men have always ogled woman in various stages of dress. When women show some flesh the men get aroused. Think about a woman’s cleavage. Oftentimes her exposed cleavage in a particular top is more arousing than if she took her top off. Other examples are women in miniskirts-so hot, or two piece bikinis. It has often been said that to leave something to the imagination is more arousing than full exposure-not that there is anything wrong with that.

So my point is that it is not unusual to be more aroused with partial exposure than the full Monty. Bate on, brothers.

    1. Your comments make a lot of sense! I must say, I love total male nudity, but the truth is, if you go to a nude beach often, or spend time at a nudist gathering, the erotic charge wears off eventually. It seems that anything we feel totally used to may become a bit more mundane. So, as much as I respect nudism and enjoy male nudes, perhaps partial clothing and clothing itself serve some more purposes than simply protection from the elements and from sunlight. Think of all the times you see some hot young fellow walking along shirtless, or wearing only shorts… — BPG

  2. I could not agree with you more! I am gay and the side of a hard on covered up by a jockstrap, or a large bulge in a bathing suit, is very enticing and it’s a turn on for me. I’m not into uniforms or suits, but give me a guy in a uniform or a suit with a large bulge and I can respond quite quickly standing straight up! Then again, I can enjoy a guy stroking who is totally nude as a turn on and I can join right in. I find both seems healthy!

Enjoy whatever turns you on, life is too damn short.

    1. Yup! And as self-rewarded suggested, anticipation of an unveiling, or leaving something to the imagination may have it’s own value in this realm! Bateworld provides a place where total nakedness and even male arousal and masturbation can be viewed and appreciated! But would these things entice us and appeal quite so much if we lived always surrounded by the real thing? I’m not so sure… — BPG
