QUESTION: I’m a proud f-to-m trans guy. Born bio female, but always felt male inside me. I’ve done hormones, breast reduction, have a beard and hair on my chest, muscular and trim. But I’ll just say it: no genital surgery, though my clit is a lot larger now, something like a relatively small penis, and ultra-ultra-sensitive. I love masturbation and I get all wet, lots of orgasms, even have a kind of discharge, not exactly semen. Can I be considered a Phallic Brother?
RESPONSE: Speaking just for myself, because you consider yourself male, I’d happily call you my Phallic Brother. Some other men born male, or having made a somewhat different transition, might feel unsure about using the word “phallic.” That term specifically refers to a penis, often meaning an erect penis. Still, in reality, who can say exactly what it is that makes someone a man or even male? Is it purely biological? Of course not!
Also involved in this complex and important issue of gender, gender variations, gender fluidity, gender by birth and various degrees of transformation, is this fact: every embryonic cluster of cells that forms just after fertilization has the potential to develop into either a fully female or a fully male fetus, or into someone neither simply one nor the other. In reality, no one born, passing through childhood and puberty into adulthood actually ends up 100% male or female. Everyone embodies some nuances of both genders, some are shared by genders, and of course this goes beyond the physical body to the mental and emotional and psychological realms.
In terms of development in the womb, for example, as I understand it, when the basic gender gets specified, the same cells that can develop into a male penis can also develop into a female clitoris. The same cells that become testicles in a male, can form female ovaries; the same cells that become the scrotum in a male, can form the labia of the vagina in a female. Though the development of these physical organs is quite well understood, the possible variations of character, and the subtler shadings that are not so obvious remain far more mysterious.
Something quite wonderful in the second decade of this New Millennium, 2020+ is the increasing understanding of and acceptance for a wider range of gender identities and expressions. You did not specify your age, but in my experience, younger people of the generations to whom the future belongs, are not so attached to simplistic labels such as male, female, straight, bisexual, gay. Gender fluidity and variations are increasingly not just accepted but celebrated! People and human sexuality have never been so simple as sometimes imagined in the past, and variety is always a precious aspect of human nature.
If you view yourself as a guy, then more power to you for being who and what you are, and please enjoy your body as fully as possible, my Phallic Brother!
A note from The Batemaster: I’m honored that the guys at Bateworld have asked me to respond to some questions from male masturbators around the world every week.
