Ask The Batemaster: Semen Leakage

For many men this is quite common during edging, and not likely to represent any particular problem with your internal plumbing.

QUESTION: When I edge real intensely, sometimes a little bit of semen comes out, but I don’t shoot. Sometimes it’s even quite a bit, like maybe half a teaspoon or more? I’m still hard and I can keep going, if I slow down for a bit. It also makes great lube! But I wonder if I stressed something inside—is this all right?

RESPONSE: For many men this is quite common during edging, and not likely to represent any particular problem with your internal plumbing. The complex balance of physical and mental, nervous system and muscle triggers within the urogenital region, and brain centers associated, are a small galaxy of interacting forces and pressures, releases, decreases and increases.

What matters most to a man edging, understandably, is the incredibly sweet, powerful sensations of erotic bliss that emanate from your penis. You are keeping yourself as close as possible to that threshold of stimulation called “ejaculatory inevitability.” This is literally the “edge” beyond which you cannot hold yourself back from the involuntary muscle contractions, the spurting of semen, and the overwhelming oblivion of ejaculatory orgasm.

Until you pass that threshold, while you maintain a high state of arousal and continued stimulation, the seminal vesicles—two small glands behind your bladder that produce and store much of the fluid you expel as semen—await release. There are also prostate gland secretions ready to mix with that fluid, and the system remains poised like a cocked trigger. One more source of components of semen is the source of what is commonly called “precum” or Cowper’s gland fluid (the gland also called the “Bulbourethral” gland). This clear, slimy fluid is something edgers often like to play with.

You can dab the diamond droplets with a fingertip and extend it in a clear thread. You may like to taste your precum, or just smear it around on the head of your penis. Your body produces this delightful crystalline nectar as an alkaline balance for the acidic leftovers of urine inside your penis, the acid which can damage living sperms cells in your semen.

Actual sperm cells, which have made their long, long migration up from your balls into readiness to mix with all this other stuff, does not shoot directly from your balls, as many fellows still seem to imagine. These microscopic wrigglers actually comprise a very small percent, 2-5 or 6 % of the volume of semen, the rest of the mix is designed to carry it and ease its passage.

Keeping yourself on the edge, I sometime compare to orbiting a black hole in space: if you stay outside the event horizon, you can still pull back. But once you cross that horizon, you’re on your way into the mysterious Singularity within the black hole. At a certain point there’s no escape.

Those hair-trigger balances are so precise, it’s not surprising if you leak a bit of the components, or even a mix of semen itself, but this leakage is harmless. You might as well enjoy it, taste it, or use it as more lube to continue your pure penis pleasure!

How Bruce P. Grether became the Batemaster

Among his earliest memories, Bruce recalls seeing an adult man’s penis swing about anchored in a nest of curly brown hairs when the man was changing clothes. That penis fascinated him and he somehow knew it was of major importance. He also remembers how good it felt to slide down a stairway banister or to climb a tree with pressure between his legs sending delicious sensations all through his body.

At an early age, he played doctor with another boy his age, and the frottage he enjoyed as they rubbed their penises together made him feel One with All Things.

He was older, maybe 9 or 10 years when he figured out how to actually masturbate while taking a shower. Immediately Bruce became a fan of self-pleasure, though, with puberty, he became extremely shy about his body being seen. Still, when his pubic hair sprouted and his penis grew bigger, it astonished him how incredible the sensations could feel with adult genitalia.

All through his 20s and 30s Bruce loved masturbating and did it often. Something kept tell him though, that there could be more to it. None of the books he read about Tantra and Taoist erotic cultivation provided simple how-to instructions. Finally, in his early 40s, he came upon Joseph Kramer’s video about male genital massage: FIRE ON THE MOUNTAIN.

Having no playmates to try this with, he tried it on himself. In the process, he discovered what he soon named “Mindful Masturbation.” For 6 weeks he masturbated for hours every day, and did not ejaculate once! This was the Penis Paradise he had been looking for since his adventures playing doctor as a young boy. He was changed forever and lost most of his shyness and insecurities.

Bruce began to listen deeply to whatever his penis told him. This way he learned more and more about male masturbation, the penis, and he studied human sexuality. Soon he was hired to write professionally for the sex education site JackinWorld (dot) com, which he did for some years under the name “Bruce McFarland.”

Since then, his erotic activism is more radical and he uses his actual given name: Bruce P. Grether, AKA the Batemaster. He has hosted workshops and now does online masturbation coaching. In 2012 his best-selling book THE SECRET OF THE GOLDEN PHALLUS was published and with his handsome young friend Blue Tyger he created the Erotic Engineering site to explore advanced male self-pleasure practices.

Bruce considers himself a Missionary of the Male Mysteries and his work continues.

  1. I am a long-time edger and a long-time pre-cum drooler as well. It just seems to occur naturally when aroused for long periods of time, but it has not impacted my ability to edge nor my ability to have “dry” orgasms. Even when I am practicing semen retention, I still drool some during a long masturbatory session (of course, I rarely do any sessions that are not long, but that’s another story!)

  2. I love to edge when I masturbate and find at times I can leak a fair bit of semen while remaining rock hard while teetering on the edge of the point of no return.

It’s so good as it truly helps with your ejaculation control over the long-term.
