There are no absolutes, no rules in male masturbation, except according to me: “Never hurt yourself, or hurt anyone else.”
QUESTION:
I know you say it’s always good to stroke with lube, and reasons why. But I’ve always done it dry. I love dry stroking! I’m circumcised, and my penis is still really sensitive. What’s wrong with this picture?
RESPONSE:
I’m not sure anything is wrong! There are several factors I don’t know about your case. One is your age, for how many years you’ve been masturbating dry. Another is your style of stroking. A lot of dry masturbation can certainly desensitize your penis. Assertive rubbing may develop “callus,” which means a layer of basically dead, inert outer skin cells. This can block activity of sensitive pleasure-receptor nerves in your penile skin surface.
Gentler tickling, or simply sliding the skin of your shaft over the inner stiffness may be less likely to cause this desensitizing. There are no absolutes, no rules in male masturbation, except according to me: “Never hurt yourself, or hurt anyone else.” Though I encourage men to use lubrication for several reasons, or at least to try using it, if you are not in the habit, there’s certainly no wrong or right involved!
So long as you are happy with the sensitivity of your penis and the intensity of your sensations, if you have no wish to try lubrication, that is entirely your choice. At the same time, there are several reasons why lubrication is a valuable asset for many men during their masturbation practice. Overall, it helps protect penis sensitivity. For most men lubrication dramatically increases the intensity of pleasurable sensations the penis can generate.

Though Albolene is wildly popular among online male masturbators, my own preference is for 100% pure organic coconut oil, which not only protects your skin, but it is also actively good for your skin, and provides long-lasting incredibly delicious sensitivity to touch.
Some guys who are intact, or uncut, do not use lubrication to masturbate because it is easy to generate marvelous pleasure simply by sliding the foreskin over the glans. This may trigger precum and naturally lubricate the penis head. However, several men I know who are intact and had rather tight foreskins tried coconut oil, found it helped loosen the foreskin, and they continue to use it now.
My suggestion is that you open your mind enough to try coconut oil. Many men I have turned on to it as lubrication call it a “game changer.” You can purchase 100% pure organic coconut oil (refined or not makes little difference) in food stores. At cooler room temperatures it may solidify into more of a solid white oil. But a few chunks on your fingers and palms rubbed briefly will melt nicely.
You’ve really got nothing to lose by trying lubrication when you masturbate, and possibly everything to gain. Most guys I know who try it, never look back!
A note from The Batemaster: I’m honored that the guys at Bateworld have asked me to respond to some questions from male masturbators around the world every week.
Always check with your doctor about any issues you might be experiencing with your sexual organs. Prompt diagnosis and treatment are important. This article’s purpose is to inform and entertain readers and is not a substitute for medical advice or treatment.
I use spit for lube, is simple and it work !
I agree, give lube a try! Could try hand lotion, olive oil or whatever slippery stuff you may have on hand, just to try it. That’s the great thing about masturbation, our sexual needs & interests can and will change over time.
In my years of masturbating I’ve always used a lube and then for some reason as I got older I stopped using lube and became a dry bator. Perhaps I got tired of the cleanup, I’m not sure. Who knows, maybe one of these days I’ll switch back to using lube. I do think its natures design for the penis to be lubricated.
I masturbate dry usually by using whatever little skin I have as a sheath. I have tried lube but it feel desensitized if I’m not sufficiently horny to appreciate the sensations. If I am aroused enough, precum or a little lube is so nice.
This is why I have been trying to stretch my skin to allow for more glide and moisture retained.
Not to be picky but…. I think you might want to restate the last two words of this paragraph as…liquefy nicely

As a dedicated frequent masturbator, I can’t imagine doing so without some kind of lube. It not only protects your skin, it feels wonderful.
