Ask The Batemaster: Did I Cause My Penis Curve

The curvature of a penis is usually a matter of genetics for the most part…

QUESTION: Guys tell me my cock is a beauty—thick shaft, nice big head. Only it’s got a pretty radical curve to the left, and I’m left-handed. Did I make it this way by stroking left-handed so much? Is there anything I can do about this? Can it be straightened out in a way that doesn’t hurt?

RESPONSE: This is a fairly common concern that I’ve responded to before. Possibly you have reinforced the direction of that curve in your penis by masturbating a great deal with that one hand. However, the curvature of a penis is usually a matter of genetics for the most part. So long as this condition of your erection is not painful, and has not recently increased, it is probably not Peyronie’s disease. Peyronie’s results from an accumulation of scar tissue inside the penis.

Most likely your behavior has not been the primary cause of this feature of your penis, any more than it has caused the color of your eyes or your hair. Some degree of curvature is definitely the case with almost every erect penis; in fact, the variety adds to the beauty of engorged male organs overall. Most penises display some degree of curvature, or quite a bit in directions that are generally upward, downward, left or right, but may manifest in almost any combination of those directions.

You can try masturbating a lot more with your right hand. Though I cannot guarantee you will modify the curvature any appreciable amount, to use both hands is something I always suggest to men when I coach men in Mindful Masturbation. Your hands, left and right, are each connected with the opposite brain hemisphere, according to how your nervous system is wired together. So, to use both hands adds some variety to how the stroking of your penis feels. Plus, it may increase sensations somewhat by encouraging you brain hemispheres to communicate even more!

There really is no safe way to modify the curve of your penis without endangering both its natural beauty and its functional aspects. Of course, if the curve seems to increase, or you feel pain in your penis, have a physician check on what’s happening, as it could be Peyronie’s, a treatable condition.

Apart from the latter situation, your very best option is to not only let this inspire you to use both hands when you masturbate, but also learn to appreciate your penis exactly as it is! Your penis is unique to you as an individual, just like your face or your thumbprint, while the basic design is universally human.

What really matters most, of course, is the pure penis pleasure you give yourself!

A note from The Batemaster: I’m honored that the guys at Bateworld have asked me to respond to some questions from male masturbators around the world every week.

Always check with your doctor about any issues you might be experiencing with your sexual organs. Prompt diagnosis and treatment are important. This article’s purpose is to inform and entertain readers and is not a substitute for medical advice or treatment.

How Bruce P. Grether became the Batemaster

Among his earliest memories, Bruce recalls seeing an adult man’s penis swing about anchored in a nest of curly brown hairs when the man was changing clothes. That penis fascinated him and he somehow knew it was of major importance. He also remembers how good it felt to slide down a stairway banister or to climb a tree with pressure between his legs sending delicious sensations all through his body.

At an early age, he played doctor with another boy his age, and the frottage he enjoyed as they rubbed their penises together made him feel One with All Things.

He was older, maybe 9 or 10 years when he figured out how to actually masturbate while taking a shower. Immediately Bruce became a fan of self-pleasure, though, with puberty, he became extremely shy about his body being seen. Still, when his pubic hair sprouted and his penis grew bigger, it astonished him how incredible the sensations could feel with adult genitalia.

All through his 20s and 30s Bruce loved masturbating and did it often. Something kept tell him though, that there could be more to it. None of the books he read about Tantra and Taoist erotic cultivation provided simple how-to instructions. Finally, in his early 40s, he came upon Joseph Kramer’s video about male genital massage: FIRE ON THE MOUNTAIN.

Having no playmates to try this with, he tried it on himself. In the process, he discovered what he soon named “Mindful Masturbation.” For 6 weeks he masturbated for hours every day, and did not ejaculate once! This was the Penis Paradise he had been looking for since his adventures playing doctor as a young boy. He was changed forever and lost most of his shyness and insecurities.

Bruce began to listen deeply to whatever his penis told him. This way he learned more and more about male masturbation, the penis, and he studied human sexuality. Soon he was hired to write professionally for the sex education site JackinWorld (dot) com, which he did for some years under the name “Bruce McFarland.”

Since then, his erotic activism is more radical and he uses his actual given name: Bruce P. Grether, AKA the Batemaster. He has hosted workshops and now does online masturbation coaching. In 2012 his best-selling book THE SECRET OF THE GOLDEN PHALLUS was published and with his handsome young friend Blue Tyger he created the Erotic Engineering site to explore advanced male self-pleasure practices.

Bruce considers himself a Missionary of the Male Mysteries and his work continues.

  1. I worried a lot about this from about age 14 to 32 – from the time I first showed my big curved down cock to my buddies and got teased, until I started coming out and had my first awesome blow job which let me know in no uncertain terms that my cock was truly wonderful! My theory was that all the spontaneous hardons in my pants in high school had done the job of curving my cock. Much later I learned that it was one aspect of a birth condition called hypospadias, not so much a genetic condition but a developmental condition in utero. I’ve gone from worrying to celebrating curved cocks – the curvature makes them seem much more alive – they’re on the move! If there’s also a sideways curve, then your cock feels quite different when it’s in one hand or the other. I really doubt that any particular grip is going to change the curvature of a fully formed cock – mine has been reliably the same shape for the last 63 years and my masturbation techniques have constantly evolved over that time. So enjoy and share that banana frequently!

  2. To this questioner: Brother, my cock has a slight upward curve and a slight left curve. It has been this way as far back as I can remember. I usually bate with my left hand and occasionally use my right. I don’t believe using one hand over the other is responsible for your curve. Using a different hand does, however, provide different stimulation and arouses different pleasure points. Cock is beautiful; I have seen many attractive cocks here on BW and a lot of these had prominent curves. Don’t worry, be happy.
