On this Thanksgiving Day, the always brilliant OK Go released an amazing song and video that I can’t stop watching. The One Moment is an inspiring anthem that reminds us to savor each moment and value the people around us. Something I definitely needed reminding of after dinner with my family.
The video, directed by lead singer Damian Kulash, Jr., continues the band’s climb into the ranks of the great artists of our time. Time being the operative word here. Four plus seconds are slowed down to reveal beautifully realized details in a mind-boggling array of explosive setups. Background notes and credits for the video can be found HERE.
The One Moment was produced in association with Morton Salt’s #WalkHerWalk campaign. I love the idea of #GivingTuesday on November 29 to counter all the Black Friday materialism that have taken over the holidays, and we encourage all our members to give back to your local communities and global causes this holiday season and throughout the year.
Especially now, Thanksgiving and the holidays offer us a time of self-reflection in an increasingly divided world. I try to remember that graciousness, gratitude and especially caring for those in need is a powerful force for change, and on this day I’m inspired by OK Go’s reminder of just how temporary yet full of opportunity each moment is for us.
And this will be
The one moment that matters
And this will be
The one thing we remember
And this will be
The reason to have been here
And this will be
The one moment that matters at all
