Ask The Batemaster: Masturbation And Food Cravings

How to Handle The Post-Bate Munchies

Question: When I finish bating, I have a sudden craving for chocolate. Is it normal to crave something after finishing?

Response: Part of my mission to encourage male masturbators is to urge you to consider your self-pleasure as part of a healthy practice of trying to love yourself better and better every day. You may be aware that science has discovered a chemical in chocolate similar to the brain chemistry of feeling “In Love,” which can make you feel euphoric, a bit crazy and kind of high, but basically really happy. If you go the chocolate route, you might consider dark, non-dairy chocolate, just to keep feeling good, as a lot of sugar and dairy products don’t really sit well with lots of guys.

So maybe loving yourself through masturbatory excellence is not totally different from being in love with someone else. Anyway, a major benefit of masturbation is in the way it influences your brain to release all sorts of nice pleasure-reward chemicals and hormones into your body.

You can really add to the benefits and lasting enjoyment of a masturbation session by deliberately giving yourself time at the end of the session to simply relax completely, savor the afterglow — do nothing but absorb the delicious sensations you’ve generated. Try to resist the urge to immediately clean up any mess, or to jump up and do something else.

At the same time, a good masturbation session can be somewhat exhausting while it’s also exhilarating, and you may have honorably worked up an appetite.

A treat such as chocolate is an excellent reward for your efforts!

How Bruce P. Grether became the Batemaster

Among his earliest memories, Bruce recalls seeing an adult man’s penis swing about anchored in a nest of curly brown hairs when the man was changing clothes. That penis fascinated him and he somehow knew it was of major importance. He also remembers how good it felt to slide down a stairway banister or to climb a tree with pressure between his legs sending delicious sensations all through his body.

At an early age, he played doctor with another boy his age, and the frottage he enjoyed as they rubbed their penises together made him feel One with All Things.

He was older, maybe 9 or 10 years when he figured out how to actually masturbate while taking a shower. Immediately Bruce became a fan of self-pleasure, though, with puberty, he became extremely shy about his body being seen. Still, when his pubic hair sprouted and his penis grew bigger, it astonished him how incredible the sensations could feel with adult genitalia.

All through his 20s and 30s Bruce loved masturbating and did it often. Something kept tell him though, that there could be more to it. None of the books he read about Tantra and Taoist erotic cultivation provided simple how-to instructions. Finally, in his early 40s, he came upon Joseph Kramer’s video about male genital massage: FIRE ON THE MOUNTAIN.

Having no playmates to try this with, he tried it on himself. In the process, he discovered what he soon named “Mindful Masturbation.” For 6 weeks he masturbated for hours every day, and did not ejaculate once! This was the Penis Paradise he had been looking for since his adventures playing doctor as a young boy. He was changed forever and lost most of his shyness and insecurities.

Bruce began to listen deeply to whatever his penis told him. This way he learned more and more about male masturbation, the penis, and he studied human sexuality. Soon he was hired to write professionally for the sex education site JackinWorld (dot) com, which he did for some years under the name “Bruce McFarland.”

Since then, his erotic activism is more radical and he uses his actual given name: Bruce P. Grether, AKA the Batemaster. He has hosted workshops and now does online masturbation coaching. In 2012 his best-selling book THE SECRET OF THE GOLDEN PHALLUS was published and with his handsome young friend Blue Tyger he created the Erotic Engineering site to explore advanced male self-pleasure practices.

Bruce considers himself a Missionary of the Male Mysteries and his work continues.

  1. Yes, its the release of all those amazing chemicals in our brain that (can) make us addicted to our sport. Great to know chocolate is yet another natural way to release those amazing & pleasurable chemicals too (as I sit here touching myself). I had read there are some nutritional benefits too. Now to add a bit of chocolate after a masturbation session, certainly willing to give it a try.

All in favor of eating some chocolate instead of cleaning up the mess afterwards? I agree its a great idea to resist cleaning up right away. Just stay still and savor the afterglow.

  2. Hmm…just gave me a delicious idea….I think I will have that piece of chocolate and top it with some homemade cream.

  3. I am 54 years old. A chronic masturbator. I have the normal soft cock now and then, like other guys my age and I understand that. I am curious how to get more volume for ejoculation. I love to edge for hours on end but just don’t seem to have much volume when I orgasm. Is this just a normal part of the aging process as well?

    1. Hey Dan, same here. I don’t know if there’s a genuine recipe or recommendation for increasing volume. But at 63 I know the same thing(s), don’t get erect like I used to nor do I make as much sperm/ejaculate as I used to either. Presume its just how things work out as we get older. Nature knows ,,,, we don’t need the volume of seed like we used to in our younger more fertile days. But of course I still enjoy masturbating & plan to continue for years to come/cum.

      1. Yes, Dan, and apalmer5… most men experience marked reduction of semen volume as we age past middle age, especially. Certainly to hydrate well (drink plenty of water), massage your balls regularly may help. Kegels, PC crunches, anal breathing, are good for quality of erections, keeping the uro-genital area toned. Of course, the pleasure you continue to feel matters most! – BPG
